![]() The Valdese Tourism/Community Affairs Department, located in the Old Rock School on Main Street, develops and maintains tourism activities, plans and promotes Valdese events and coordinates events in the Old Rock School. Barbara Hefner is the Tourism / Community Affairs Director. The Tourism/Community Affairs Department also works in conjunction with local business and civic organizations to coordinate several events throughout the year which include: Family Friday Nights Summer Concert Series, Christmas in November Craft & Gift Show, the Valdese Christmas Parade, the Independence Day Celebration & Fireworks, and the Waldensian Festival. Book a day trip with the Valdese Tourism Office and experience the Waldensian culture and history as you tour the Trail of Faith, Waldensian Heritage Museum & Gift Shop, Waldensian Heritage Winery, and many more local attractions. Valdese is a great place for senior and church group tours. During the fall and winter months, the Old Rock School auditorium is home to the Bluegrass at the Rock Concert Series and features bluegrass musicians such as Dailey & Vincent, Doyle Lawson, Audie Blaylock, and Dr. Ralph Stanley, just to name a few.
