The Town of Valdese Parks and Recreation Commission is made up of citizens who have been nominated and appointed to the Commission by council members and the mayor. It serves as an advisory board for Parks and Recreation Department staff, the Town Manager, and members of the Town Council. The commission meets quarterly unless there is a special need. Commissioners are seated for a three year term.
